Pet Portrait Mugs by Amanda Proctor Ceramics: A Pawfect Gift for the Pet Obsessed

Pet Portait
No one was more thrilled about our Teddy mugs than Teddy himself. Look how pleased he is to be featured on our mugs!

‘Tis the season to be barking… Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la! Even though we have not even made it to Halloween yet, I am already thinking about holiday gifts. You guys know that I love anything that I can put Teddy’s face on, so you can imagine my excitement this time last year when I connected with local artist, Amanda Proctor of Amanda Proctor Ceramics. For those of you who are similar, I have found the ultimate gift… a Pet Portrait Mug!

My husband is so hard to shop for every year, so last holiday season, I was thrilled to connect with Amanda via Instagram. I ordered my mugs and within a few weeks, they were ready, just in time for Christmas! I paired the mugs with hot chocolate, marshmallows and snacks as a gift pack for my husband and he was so happy.

You can get your mug in a variety of styles. I opted for one all white and one with Amanda’s signature turquoise glaze trim on the top. Her all turquoise mugs are super pretty!

Meet the Maker: Amanda Proctor Ceramics

Amanda fell in love with pottery in 2006 after taking a high school ceramics class back in Georgia. She graduated from The University of Georgia and got her degree in art. She started her pottery business in 2013 and moved to Baton Rouge, LA in the fall of 2019. Since she arrived on the scene in Baton Rouge, Amanda has been a force in the local artist community, attending markets like Mid City Makers and the Market at the Oasis. She is known for her unique pet portraits and her beautiful quality work. Amanda’s pottery is playful, functional, and fun!

In addition to pet portrait mugs, Amanda also makes elevated cat food dishes with cute little ears in two different types: a shallow dish for soft food, to avoid whisker fatigue and a round bowl for hard food. Elevating your pet bowls helps relieve neck strain and reflux, especially for older cats!

She also makes seasonal decor such as ceramic pumpkins, jewelry dishes, mugs, magnets, plant holders, bowls, and dining plates.

Amanda loves to make portraits for pets with their own Instagram page. This helps her choose the best model pose from the pet’s Instagram feed for her carving.

If you are interested in having Amanda create a custom pet portrait mug for someone special this holiday season, you can contact her through her website form here: https://forms.gle/yVbkBu4yTuorHPsy6

You’ll want to make sure you get your holiday orders in soon to guarantee your spot! This is a unique and fun holiday gift for the pet lover who seems impawsible to shop for.
